Yes, my final day at the office yesterday. Walked out the door after only 7 months. Had a Friday after office hours drinks and then a nice Jap buffet dinner with the kids. Time to move on and not look back.
A mid-week surprise on the first famiLee saga then went full blown on FB (a sign of the times for social media). Information has been flowing out hard and furious over the last few days and it’s too early to make a call. There is always 2 sides to every story and the animosity seems to run deep. Bottomline, I guess all family feuds seems to be about $$$ in the end. So sad to see that 2 brothers are now at each other’s throats while the sister becomes a sideshow. Too much in the open now to take it all back… The Pandora box is now truly opened.
An old song caught my attention this morning. It brought me back to a time long ago when I was eighteen, having just finished my A level exams and waiting to start a new chapter in the army. I was the only one that had a driving license and a group of my neighborhood friends would cruise down the East Coast highway with a borrowed car. We would then play this song at full blast over and over again and singing it together at the top of our voices with the windows down and the wind pushing against our faces.
Ahh.. Life was simple then, no worries and feeling great as we face the world as young adults into the unknown. And here we are 33 years later. Where did all these time fly to? So much had happened but yet those innocent moments of pure ecstasy are still so crystal clear in my mind.
Forever Young : Alphaville (1984)
Let’s start in style, let’s dance for a while,
Heaven can wait we’re only watching the skies.
Hoping for the best, but expecting the worst,
Are you gonna drop the bomb or not?
Let us die young or let us live forever
We don’t have the power, but we never say never
Sitting in a sandpit, life is a short trip
The music’s for the sad man.
Can you imagine when this race is won?
Turn our golden faces into the sun,
Praising our leaders, we’re getting in tune
The music’s played by the madman.
Forever young,
I want to be forever young.
Do you really want to live forever?
Forever, and ever
Forever young,
I want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever?
Forever young.
Some are like water, some are like the heat
Some are a melody and some are the beat
Sooner or later they all will be gone
Why don’t they stay young?
It’s so hard to get old without a cause
I don’t want to perish like a fading horse
Youth’s like diamonds in the sun,
And diamonds are forever
So many adventures couldn’t happen today,
So many songs we forgot to play
So many dreams swinging out of the blue
Oh let them come true
Forever young,
I want to be forever young.
Do you really want to live forever,
Forever, and ever?
Forever young,
I want to be forever young.
Do you really want to live forever,
Forever young?
Forever young
I want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever,
Forever, and ever?
Forever young,
I want to be forever young.
Do you really want to live forever?
